Go Big or Go Home: Maximise Your Message with Large Format Printing

Large format printing is how a brand gets big: a banner across a fence, a feature wall with no joins, a shopfront window that reads from the road, a bakkie that advertises on every trip. It is printed on wide rolls and rigid boards rather than sheets, on inks made for weather and sun, and it is the fastest way to turn a plain space into a branded one. This guide explains what large format covers, which product suits which job, and what to send us so it prints right first time.
Pick the product by the surface and the time it must last. PVC banners with eyelets for fences, gates and short-term campaigns. Posters from A5 to A0 for windows, counters and notice boards, in eco-solvent for indoors or UV for sun. Seamless wallpaper for feature walls. Window decals, Contravision and frosted vinyl for glass. Floor decals for aisles and wayfinding. Cut or printed vinyl decals for vehicles. For rigid boards, read our signage materials guide; for fabric, our dye-sublimation guide.
What large format printing is
Large format, or wide format, printing uses inkjet presses that print directly onto flexible rolls or rigid boards, at widths and lengths a sheet press cannot reach. Our large format digital printing line prints up to 2.2 m wide in a single seamless pass, and our textile line prints wallcovering up to 3 m wide, so most walls and banners are produced in one piece. Two ink systems cover the work: eco-solvent inks for crisp, economical indoor prints, and UV-cured inks that solidify on the surface for maximum fade and moisture resistance outdoors. Rigid boards, from Correx to Dibond, are printed on the same technology on flatbed presses.

PVC banners and posters

- Print: UV inks directly onto lightweight PVC, high-contrast for long-range reading
- Finish: metal eyelets along the perimeter for cable-tie mounting; supplied rolled
- Best for: store rollouts, temporary event signage and short-term roadside campaigns without framing hardware

- Sizes: A5, A4 and A3 for counters and notice boards; A2, A1 and A0 for windows and showroom panels
- Paper: 170, 200 or 250 gsm coated paper with a low-sheen satin coat

- Cut: precision-cut to standard sizes on automated machinery
A banner is the economical answer where there is a fence, a gate or a wall to tie it to and the campaign is short. Where a sign must last, or stand on its own, move to a rigid board or a framed sign: our materials guide compares Chromadek, Dibond, Correx, ABS and foam board.
Wallpaper and canvas

- Seamless: printed on a woven textile wallcovering up to 3 m wide and to any length, so most walls are one piece with no joins
- Made to measure: every order is printed to the exact dimensions of your wall, with the image scaled and positioned for the space
- Print and install by our team or a trusted installation partner, or print and supply only, non-adhesive and hung with paste
- Also available: a self-adhesive peel-and-stick wallpaper on request
Measure the full width and height of the wall in millimetres and tell us about doors, windows and sockets; we check every file at full size and advise before printing if an image will not hold up at wall scale. Existing vinyl or wallpaper must come off first, and we can include the removal. For a single image rather than a wall, canvas prints from A6 to A0 give photographs, artwork and brand imagery a textured, glare-free finish.
Window, floor and vehicle graphics

- Glass: printed or cut [window decals](/product/window-decals), one-way [Contravision](/product/contravision) and [frosted vinyl](/product/frosted-vinyl), measured per pane
- Floors: [floor decals](/product/floor-decals) under a floor-grade laminate, contour-cut to any shape, up to 2 m stamps
- Vehicles: [car decals](/product/car-decals) cut from solid vinyl or printed and laminated, for doors, tailgates, bonnets and rear windows; no full wraps
- Removable: [magnetic signs](/product/magnetic-signs) on 0.6 mm magnetic sheet, 105 × 74 up to 841 × 1,189 mm
These are the surfaces signage cannot reach, and the same rule applies to all of them: the vinyl must match the surface, and anything handled, washed or walked on gets a laminate. Our labels, stickers and decals guide goes through each in detail.

Frequently asked questions
What counts as large format printing?
Anything printed on wide rolls or rigid boards rather than sheets: banners, posters, wallpaper, canvas, window and floor graphics, vehicle decals, and rigid signs on boards such as Chromadek, Dibond, Correx, ABS and foam board.
How wide can you print?
Up to 2.2 m wide in a single seamless pass on our roll and flatbed presses, and up to 3 m wide on textile wallcovering for seamless feature walls.
Eco-solvent or UV ink?
Eco-solvent for cost-effective indoor prints with fine detail, such as notices and indoor posters. UV-cured ink for anything that faces sun or moisture, such as shop windows and outdoor banners.
What size PVC banner should I order?
2,000 × 1,000 or 3,000 × 1,500 mm for fences and roadside positions, A0 to A2 for storefronts and corridors, and A3 or A4 as tear-resistant counter posters. Every banner comes with eyelets for cable ties.
Can wallpaper be printed without joins?
Yes. It is printed on a wallcovering up to 3 m wide and to any length, so a standard wall runs floor to ceiling in one piece, printed to your measured size.
Do you print vehicle wraps?
No. We print and cut car decals for doors, tailgates, bonnets and rear windows, and Contravision for rear glass, applied at our premises or on site. We do not offer full vehicle wraps.
Can you install it?
Yes. Wallpaper, window graphics, decals and signage are installed by our own team or our Cape Town installation partner, or supplied ready to apply with application tape.
Ready to go big?
Tell us the surface, the size, how long the print must last and whether you need it installed, and send your artwork. We will recommend the product and print it in our Cape Town factory.
